Considering a trip to Nicaragua in Feb, but maye not…
its a lovely place with lovely people
not sure about the security situation lately, but i dont follow the news that closely.
if you do go there, let me know.. i can recommend a couple of cool places to stay with sound people.
also.. this bloke was a high ranking govt type.. and what he says is correct.
from my limited understanding, the country has taken an unpleasant venezuela type turn in recent years...
i know there have been several violent supressions of public protests in recent years.
but i havent heard of any recent ones.
whether that affects your plans, thats up to you.
im sure the tourism industry would be very happy to have you

i spent some time there while i waiting for a travel document to come from el DEF (to replace my stolen passport etc.)
sadly i wasnt super well, so didnt get up to much, but it was a lovely place to do fuck all.
if you go to nica, be super careful of your belongings on public transport! i got lazy and consequently screwed over.
