no tropical drone storm

gl puts on his dark storytelling boots
and makes an absolute banger
in his unique epic brooding style
loosely telling the story of a moronic wannabe jihadi
who travelled across the planet to join a bunch of cunts
because dog told him to?
(he did what he had to do...)

word of the weak - hypothecation

Hypothecation is the practice of pledging an asset as collateral for a loan without transferring the asset's ownership or physical possession.

that was pretty dry wasnt it?
drier than the offspring if the gobi and antarctica got it on and had a baby

but at least if you speak a romance language you knew what was coming!

Blue bastard

no, the blue bastard is not a miserable git!

A distinct species of sweetlips fish native to the shallow, tropical waters of northern Australia.

The common name was coined by frustrated anglers because the fish is notoriously difficult to hook on a fly. The formal scientific name (caeruleonothus) combines the Latin words for "blue" (caeruleo) and "bastard" (nothus).

Auntie Aggie

(n.b does not faithfully represent auntie aggie)

auntie aggie lived Cumbernauld

between edinburgh and glasgow

auntie aggie was quite elderly

and very kind to a vague step relation and a complete stranger

auntie aggie had a stairlift to get up and down (the stairs obvs)

and loved to watch her 'stories' on daytime telly

auntie aggie referred to many people as 'his nibs'

and had a fake 'fire'

(which i found hilarious)

auntie aggie was very hospitable

and gave us advice on where to visit in her caledonia

auntie aggie had a lovey brogue

and fed and humoured us callow fools with great patience

auntie aggie was (politely) appalled that we didnt go to the cairngorns (as i had wished)

because a fucking idiot wanted to see a coastal shithole

no doubt auntie aggie has left the building by now

vale and thanks for the fry ups auntie aggie

Word of the weak - apotropaic

something meant to turn away, ward off, or prevent evil, bad luck, or harmful spiritual influences. It comes from the Greek word apotrepein, meaning "to turn away."

conclusion - anything can be apotropaic if you believe it hard enough.

try it at home! -

grab a common or garden variety stick, shove it forcefully up your arse, convince yourself its apotropaic then go leap into oncoming traffic and see how it works out for you.(you credulous twat)

cut from the crap

a lovely track from the much maligned 1985 final album by the clash 'cut the crap'
which was so bad it was excised from official clash history

but the question remains

Why so shit?

sure mick jones had been given the boot

but Joe strummers later work was amazing

his albums with the mescaleros are low key masterful

all in it was a sad conclusion to the oeuvre of one of the most important bands of the 'punk era'

maxitruffa!

word of the weak - interrobang

The interrobang is a punctuation mark intended to combine the functions of the question mark (also known as the interrogative point) and the exclamation mark (also known in the jargon of printers as a "bang"). The glyph is a combination of those two marks and was first proposed in 1962.

it is also a highly enjoyable word to pronounce, say it out loud, now!

(see, wasnt that just a verbal delight‽)
