'San Simón, o Maximón, el mismo personaje con dos nombres. San Simón es el santo español no reconocido y Maximón es el chamán maya. Es el santo principal en Guatemala y puedes ver efigies suyas en todas partes, algunas en santuarios especiales que cambian de casa cada año y otras en lugares menos probables como bares o peores. Siempre tiene un aspecto más o menos parecido: con bigote, sombrero de vaquero, un cigarrillo colgando de la boca y rodeado de una gran cantidad de decoraciones coloridas y extrañas.'
